When designing your home, one of the hardest parts can be, it not only look beautiful, but also feel like you. If you want to have a home that reflects who you are, and not just what trend, consider these six ideas that will not burden your wallet.

1. Start With a Self Q & A
In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, we rarely (if ever) take the time to think about what really makes us tick. Most of us are simply disconnected, what inspires us, what lights us up, or what makes us feel calm and happy in our day to day.
- What must I value the most in life?
- What makes me happy, playful and inspired?
- What things, places or activities make me feel relaxed and rested?

2. Create a vision for your space
Once you have some inspiration, creating a vision board (as you like) is a great way to design themes in a tangible way. If you have a vision board, photos, items or anything that makes you feel good.
You can either take a digital collection of inspiration or go old school with a pin board and some photos and page cutouts.

6. Choose colors that excite
Color is one of the easiest ways to create a personalized atmosphere in every room. Whether through a cheap-and-cheerful paint job, a wall feature, or a few items in a palette that you love , you can capture a design style that looks and feels a lot like you.
Pro Tip: Think color when you shop for books. You do not need to have books that you have read. Some of my favorites I’ve found in design are old books, vintage stores or charity sales. For the inspiration, choose the colors you want to highlight, and then go and find the perfect covers – and who knows, maybe you open a day !
